Synopsis:

Morocco is one of the more liberal economies in North Africa. Aware of the need to diversify Morocco¡¦s economy, the government has since 2006 implemented Plan Emergence since 2006, a strategic plan to upgrade Morocco¡¦s industries. Manufacturing, particularly electronics, is burgeoning. Besides industry-specific boosting measures, the government is also investing heavily to upgrade Morocco¡¦s infrastructure, signing trade facilitation agreements with its main trading partners, as well as reducing tax to create a more favourable business environment in Morocco. Hong Kong companies are likely to find opportunities in supplying industrial inputs as well as consumer goods to this market, where the industrial base as well as the middle class are expanding
