Closer ties between Taiwan and the mainland will stimulate trade and investment across the Strait. As Hong Kong has long been acting as a business hub servicing Taiwanese companies, particularly Taiwanese electronics-related investment on the mainland, Hong Kong's technology, financial and legal sectors will benefit further from the increasing businesses stemming from the Three Links. These will effectively offset the short-term impacts on the territory's visitor and cargo traffic brought about by the availability of direct flights across the Strait.
