This paper examines the business opportunities arising from the new package of CEPA liberalisations agreed in June 2007, which among other things, add 40 liberalisation measures in 28 services sectors (11 of which are new services areas), extends the products with CEPA-origin rules by 17, and introduce various cooperative measures. For example, the Chinese mainland has agreed to support Hong Kong for organising large-scale international conventions and exhibitions, and to set up green lanes for processing Hong Kong banksˇ¦ applications to open branches in Guangdong and other places.
